Department of Health Industry Technology Management

About Us

The Department of Health Industry Technology Management was established in 2002, under the College of Health Care and Management. Since 2010, the annual enrollment has included approximately 50 undergraduate students and 8 post-graduate students. Our teaching objective is to take healthy diet industry management as the core competency complementing with diverse management related knowledge to enhance the development of food technology, health care medicine. Our ultimate goal is to train and cultivate all-around high-level managers. Upon completion of the program, we hope that students will possess the following core competencies:

  1. Undergraduate Program:
  1. Possess the relevant knowledge and technical ability related to food technology.
  2. Possess the relevant knowledge and application related to disease prevention and health promotion.
  3. Possess the ability to perform food inspection analysis as well as health and safety management.
  4. Possess the management capabilities for the healthy diet industry
  1. Graduate Program:
  1. Enhance advanced professional knowledge related to food technology.
  2. Enhance the up-to-date health-related knowledge and integration capability.
  3. Cultivate innovative thinking, logical analysis, and research capabilities.
  4. Enhance health diet industry analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

Faculty and Curriculum
The Department has nine full-time professional and experienced faculty members with different specialties providing students with a diverse learning environment.

The department’s courses are divided into three categories:

  1. Management direction: Courses include Economics, Management, Marketing, Statistics, Accounting, etc.
  2. Food Technology direction: Courses include Food Processing, Food Processing Laboratory, Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Frozen Food, Food Microbiology, Food Microbiology Laboratory, Food Microbiology Laboratory, Food Analysis, Food Analysis Experiment Food Analysis Laboratory, etc.
  3. Healthcare and Medicine direction: Courses include Nutrition, Nutrition and Diet Therapy, disease prevention and health food, etc.

Activity

To let our student for a professional career in the health industry, we frequently invite industry speakers to give seminars, arrange industry internships for prospective students, and organize meetings with successful alumni for our students’ career developments. It is particularly worthy to mention that our diversified internship programs provide students to experience various industry natures. Meanwhile, industry visits are frequently arranged for our students to acquire first-hand information for management of healthy diet and related business, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
